Here is probably one of the most powerful cases ever decided in the Supreme Court of our nation. A long read (114 pages) but well worth the time. It curbed the power of any government agency to write laws (a power only vested in Congress) and enforce them (a power vested only in our judicial system). The alphabet soup of three-letter agencies was never endowed with this power, nor could congress endow them with it since there is a maxim of law which states “A power, itself delegated cannot be again delegated.”
